Bon Dia, Catalonia, Barcelona

It was an early start in Barca on day one, and at first adrenaline was enough.

Abbey and LaureLine on the metro

Anna, our tour manager, introduced us to our local lovely LaureLine who found Gloria's cafe for breakfast and led us to the Gaudi basilica.

Sagrada Familia

We sat outside at Gloria's cafe near a piece of the old Roman wall, and Minoli ordered octopus for breakfast.

@ Gloria's by Capella Reial de Santa Agata

We waited in line to see the Sagrada Familia, and it was well worth it, an overwhelming architectural spectacle and masterpiece honoring God.

Natural light for the spire of Jesus

The ceiling, tree trunks and branches rise to the sky
While we weren't entirely sure we would make it through the day trekking around the Gothic quarter, seeing Le Boqueria, the fresh market, and Santa Eulalia with Anna were all a great way to acquaint ourselves with this lovely Catalonia region.

And finally - the cockroach necklace...
After dinner we were ready to get our first nights sleep since we left to prepare for our bike tour in the morning.
